Lapis Lazuli House has worked for over 40 years to provide fine, handcrafted lapis lazuli jewelry and ornamentation to clients worldwide. Lapis Lazuli House was founded by Chilean artist and United States resident Luciana Celis. In the early 1970s, after learning how to perfectly cut and polish gemstones in the diamond district in New York, Luciana traveled to Chile with the dream of designing and manufacturing lapis lazuli jewelry and carvings.
Luciana established the first Chilean Lapis boutique in Bellavista, a well-known bohemian and artistic hub in Santiago de Chile. Only six years later, in 1977, she opened a second store in the Victoria Tower of Cerro San Cristobal, a tourist icon in the Chilean capital. Her store’s heritage helped to establish a major source of attraction for tourists, and as such, lapis lazuli was declared the Chilean national stone in 1984.
In 2014, Lapis Lazuli House expanded its reach into foreign markets by establishing operations in the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C. Luciana returned to the United States to embark on a new artistic adventure to continue to promote her unique artisan collection made of a gemstone with a stunning shade of blue that springs in the majestic Andes Mountains.
Her urban designs are individually crafted by using natural lapis lazuli, sterling silver, and other semi-precious stones. Since the beginning, Luciana and her business have supported dozens of craftsmen in the manufacture and promotion of their work, positively impacting their standard of living.
